IBM computer Watson tolled the bell that signals the end of mankind and the takeover of machines. Or is this more hot-aired conspiracy from IBM?

Jeopardy! is going to pit Brad Rutter and Ken Jennings against an IBM computer.

I've heard in the past about stations arguing with the providers over costs - the current spat between Fox and Cablevision is depriving 3 million customers in the NY area from seeing Fox channels. Seems to me that Cablevision standing up to Fox could help keep costs down for the average Joe cable subscriber. Not that I've done any research.

I must say, the talent on this season's America's Got Talent is awesome. The top 10 was reduced to 4 last night, and it must've been tough for the voters to choose.

Perhaps a bit late for this article, but I'm still saddened that Kevin left The Tonight Show at the end of May.

Given I haven't tried to understand the whole flap that occurred when Leno got The Tonight Show back from Conan, but to me it still doesn't seem Leno is getting a "fair shake" in all of this. I thought NBC forced him to retire so that Conan could take over. And when the ratings were bad, Leno got his old job back. And he's a bad guy why?

Conan basically said on 60 Minutes that he doesn't see how Leno was getting screwed by NBC... well, certainly everyone has made him out to be a bad guy, right? So he's getting screwed that way. And the ratings weren't there for Conan, so he shouldn't be surprised by getting booted.

And by the way, David Letterman is not that funny.

So I'm watching Rocky IV on Ion tonight, the big fight scene at the end, second round. And what has Ion done??? They've edited the lead-up to the punch Rocky throws to cut Drago, such that they've drained most of the emotional buildup! Certainly whoever did that hack job hasn't watched the movie enough to appreciate the most amazing scene in the movie!

Jay Leno did a banana peel joke tonight.

It's true, as he said, that it's been awhile since anyone's probably heard a banana peel joke. But, amazingly, I started doing banana peel gags at work in the past month. When I walk to the garbage can I pretend to throw my peel in front of someone walking the other direction. Sadly, they don't get my joke, either. :)
