New Amazon Kindle Fire HD Tablet - 2 Cents
The new Amazon Kindle Fire HD Tablet doesn't have a positronic type R phase discriminating amplifier so I think I'll pass (Data's brain from Star Trek: TNG).

Happy Anniversary Star Trek
It's the 46th anniversary of Star Trek (the original series). Google had a neat doodle thing of it.
I'm still deciding which tablet to buy, so keep the info coming. Should I just wait for whatever RIM's (Blackberry) got up their sleeve?
Nook releases their new one soon - I was leaning in their direction over the Nexus from Google because I don't think the latter supports Flash, and the Nook seemed way easier to use than the Fire (although the fact Barnes and Noble will be bankrupt soon discourages me). I know nothing about Blackberry's.
Depending on when Windows releases theirs and how much it costs, I may end up going with them. I think I've narrowed the selection down to the Nook or Surface.
Looks like the Surface will be priced at a minimum of $300, and that'll be a lesser version.
So it'll be the Nook when they release their new one methinks.
Barnes and Noble announced their new Nook tablets. No camera. Probably not a deal-breaker. Will evaluate when closer to release.
Playbook looks like a good tablet, too. In the end, lots of good options, but will probably end up with the Nook because I know it has access to certain apps I'll want, flash support, no ads, customizable login so the kiddos can use it, parental controls, etc. It's the "family-oriented" tablet.
Amazon's HD tablet has a really good deal on kids stuff and I believe allows multiple logins with an ad-free kids experience.
They're doing all they can to pull me away from the Nook.
Oh yeah, the Kindle Fire isn't friendly to flash, so one important site I'd like to use isn't usable (unless I sideload blah blah techy whatnot). Nook HD+ here I come!
The Nook HD+ was nice, but had a technical glitch that support couldn't figure out. Instead of waiting on them I decided to return it. Think I'll get an I-pad Mini when they're eventually available in stores again (they sell out fast). Oh well to flash support.
HP is going to release a tablet again, priced at $169.
